ASHVILLE, OH — Pickaway County deputies responded to a burglary in progress on December 2, 2024, leading to the arrest of a suspect with an active warrant and the recovery of stolen items.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence at 3658 Duvall Road after a neighbor reported suspicious activity. The neighbor observed two vehicles and three unknown males removing items from the home and loading them into a truck.
Upon arrival, deputies detained one suspect, identified as Dennis Kingery, who was seen leaving the house carrying copper piping by responding Ashville officers. The other two individuals fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
Kingery claimed he had permission from the property owner to be at the residence but was unable to provide a name or contact information for the alleged owner. He also denied knowing the other suspects involved.
Inside the house, deputies found a DeWalt Sawzall and an impact drill, which Kingery admitted were his tools. Photos of the damage, tools, and the truck used in the burglary were taken as evidence.
The following items were taken into custody:
- Copper piping, believed to be stolen from the home.
- A DeWalt Sawzall and battery.
- A DeWalt impact drill and battery.
- Truck keys for a white Ford Ranger, driven by Kingery.
A background check revealed that Kingery had an active warrant out of Fairfield County. He was arrested on burglary charges and transported to the Pickaway County Jail.
Detectives arrived on the scene to assist with the investigation, and all evidence was processed and logged. Deputies confirmed that body cameras were activated during the incident.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to identify and locate the two other suspects involved.
