PICKAWAY COUNTY, OH – June 14, 2024 – In the early hours of Friday morning, a terrifying home invasion in the Mount Sterling area prompted a swift response from local law enforcement. Around 3 a.m., a frantic 911 call alerted the Pickaway County emergency system to an intruder breaking into a residence by smashing a window.

Pickaway County dispatchers quickly coordinated with both the Madison County Sheriff’s Department and the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office to ensure a rapid response.

3:00 AM: Homeowners reported hearing the sound of breaking glass and took refuge in the back of their home, unable to access their home protection. A Madison County sheriff arrived first and waited for additional deputies before entering the home. Pickaway County deputies soon joined, and together, they entered the darkened home with flashlights and firearms at the ready.

Inside the home, deputies discovered 37-year-old Christofer Prince, bleeding from cuts sustained while breaking the window. Prince was immediately taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for medical attention.

Prince faced the Court this week and was found guilty of Aggravated Burglary 6 to 9 years in prison.
