Pickaway County, OH – Law enforcement agencies across Pickaway County are gearing up for the 2024 National Night Out by expanding their reach beyond Circleville. This year’s event, scheduled for August 6, 2024, aims to strengthen community bonds and celebrate the partnership between police departments, fire departments, and local residents.

The Circleville Police Department is hosting a central event at Ted Lewis Park in Circleville. Attendees can look forward to an array of activities including free food and drinks, a K9 demonstration, touch-a-truck with Circleville safety forces, DJ music, and an Air Evac Helicopter display.

Meanwhile, the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Department is broadening the scope of the event by organizing gatherings at multiple locations across the county. Sheriff Hafey and his team have coordinated events at three primary locations, with a potential fourth location in the works. These locations include Circleville Township Park, Mohave Drive; Monroe Township Park, 18104 Five Points Pike in Mt Sterling; and 180 Main Street in Tarlton.

“This year, we have partnered with Circleville to extend National Night Out to different corners of the county, providing local communities with accessible opportunities to join the festivities,” stated Sheriff Hafey. “We encourage everyone to come out and spend the day with us, enjoying family-friendly activities alongside our dedicated first responders.”

In addition to showcasing emergency response vehicles and equipment, local school districts will participate in the event to distribute back-to-school information and address community questions. The collaboration aims to foster stronger relationships between law enforcement, fire departments, schools, and residents.

National Night Out is a nationwide initiative aimed at promoting police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Pickaway County’s expanded participation reflects a commitment to community engagement and safety awareness.

Residents are invited to attend any of the scheduled events to celebrate, connect with local first responders, and learn more about resources available in their communities.
