Circleville, OH – A Pickaway County man has been sentenced to four years in prison after being found guilty of kidnapping. Dalton Michael Whited, 32, was convicted in Pickaway County Court on March 12, 2025, and will serve his sentence at the Correctional Reception Center (CRC).

The charges stem from a September 3, 2024, incident in which officers responded to the 300 block of East Union Street following reports of a woman being pushed or falling out of a moving vehicle. Upon arrival, officers found a female victim in the roadway with visible injuries to her head, ankle, and back. Witnesses reported seeing an older black pickup truck involved in the incident.

The victim told police she had been arguing with Whited, who allegedly attempted to put his hands on her. In an attempt to escape, she jumped from the moving vehicle. Emergency medical services transported her for treatment, while detectives searched the area for surveillance footage and evidence.

Whited was later located and taken into custody after being medically cleared at Berger Hospital. He was formally arrested for felonious assault and kidnapping before being booked into the Pickaway County Jail without incident.

Investigators later obtained a search warrant for the Ford F-150 involved in the case, which was seized for evidentiary purposes. Additional evidence, including security footage and text messages, further linked Whited to the crime.

Authorities continue to urge anyone with further information regarding this case to contact the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.
