CIRCLEVILLE, OHIO (November 13, 2024) – Pickaway County Community Action’s annual Chili Cook-Off is this Friday, Nov. 15 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Heritage Hall at the Pickaway County Fairgrounds.
Twenty-three chili recipes are entered to compete at the event.
“This is the most entries we’ve ever had for the cook-off,” PICCA Executive Director Becky Hammond said. “It’s very exciting because the proceeds will make the holiday season brighter for children and families in need in our community.”
Admission to the event is $7, granting access to as much chili as someone can eat and live entertainment from Marty Hayes and the X-Perience Students. PICCA will hold a silent auction, instant lottery and gift card tree raffle, and a life auction to raise additional funds at the event. New this year are tables featuring homemade baked goods and holiday cheer for the silent and live auctions. There will be more than 100 items available at the silent auction.
Chili recipes entered are from individuals, businesses and civic organizations.
Judging will determine which recipe is considered the best in the categories of Specialty Chili and Original Chili, with a special vote by attendees for People’s Choice. PICCA also will sell hot dogs and chips. Alcoholic beverages will be sold by the fairgrounds. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also stop by for a photo opportunity.
Can’t attend the event. PICCA is accepting donations of cash or unwrapped toys at its offices located at 469 E. Ohio St., Circleville, OH 43113. For more information, contact Matthias Rickerd at (740) 477-1655.
