Circleville, OH — The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office took a creative approach to raising funds for local families in need this holiday season with a No Shave November/December fundraising event. The initiative, which saw several staff members forgo their razors for a good cause, raised nearly $3,500 to support Christmas gift-giving for families in the community.
As Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey humorously noted, “Just in case you were wondering, we don’t have broken razors at the Sheriff’s Office,” referring to the growing beards of participating staff. The funds raised through the event were used to purchase Christmas gifts for families across Pickaway County, ensuring that local children and families would have a brighter holiday season.
On December 21, 2024, Sheriff Hafey, along with several deputies, personally delivered the gifts to the families. In addition to the presents, the families received holiday meals donated by City Barbeque in Circleville, further spreading holiday cheer.
Sheriff Hafey expressed gratitude for the generous support of the local community, saying, “We are so thankful for our partnership with City Barbeque and for the support we received from the community during this event. It’s heartwarming to see how everyone comes together to help those in need during the holidays.”
The success of the No Shave November/December fundraiser not only helped bring Christmas joy to local families, but also highlighted the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office’s ongoing commitment to supporting their community.
