Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office Welcomes Two Experienced Female Deputies

Pickaway County, OH – August 20, 2024 – The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the addition of two highly skilled women to its team, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing community safety.

Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey is excited to welcome Deputy Aubrey Booker and Deputy Vanessa Emler as the newest members of the Sheriff’s Office family.

Deputy Aubrey Booker’s journey with the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office began as an intern. She was hired as the CCW (Concealed Carry Weapons) clerk in 2018 and transitioned to the role of property/evidence room manager in 2022. Booker furthered her law enforcement credentials at the Southern Ohio Police Training Institute, where she completed her basic academy training. After passing the state certification exam, she was officially sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff.

Joining her is Deputy Vanessa Emler, who brings five years of law enforcement experience from the Village of Commercial Point Police Department. Deputy Emler’s extensive background will be a valuable asset to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office as she steps into her new role.

Sheriff Hafey extends his congratulations and a warm welcome to both deputies, expressing confidence in their abilities to contribute positively to the community and uphold the values of the Sheriff’s Office. The addition of Deputies Booker and Emler marks an exciting new chapter for the department, strengthening its dedication to serving and protecting Pickaway County residents.
