LOCKBOURNE, Ohio – Early on November 24, 2023, deputies from the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of suspicious activity involving two trucks at 9955 Shepherd Road. An anonymous caller alerted authorities about two men potentially tampering with the vehicles.

Upon arrival at approximately 2:52 a.m., deputies discovered that Oho State Trooper Mowbray from the Ohio State Highway Patrol was already on scene, having detained two males and a female. One of the suspects, identified as Luther Hackney, was in the back of a cruiser, while Eddie Rhodes stood nearby with a female companion, Erica Writesel.

Officers observed several personal items on the hood of the cruiser, including a large bag containing a white powdery substance, alongside multiple smaller baggies. According to Trooper Mowbray, the baggie was found on Hackney during a search following his arrest.
