Pickaway-Ross Career & Technology Center Marks 50 Years with Community Celebration

Chillicothe, OH — Pickaway-Ross Career & Technology Center (CTC) is celebrating its 50th anniversary, commemorating a half-century of dedication to career-technical education and workforce development in Ross and Pickaway counties. Since its establishment in 1974, the center has been a pivotal institution, equipping students with essential skills and contributing to regional economic growth.

To honor this milestone, Pickaway-Ross CTC will host a special community celebration on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its campus located at 895 Crouse Chapel Road, Chillicothe. The event, open to the public, promises a day of fun and festivities for all ages.

Event Highlights Include:

  • Car & Bike Show: Vehicle enthusiasts can showcase their cars and motorcycles, with registration starting at 9 a.m. Attendees can admire a diverse range of classic and modern vehicles on display throughout the day.
  • Kiddie Tractor Pull: Children aged 3-8 are invited to participate in this engaging event, with registration beginning at 10 a.m. and the pull starting at 11 a.m.
  • Family Fun Activities: Enjoy complimentary food, live music, and a variety of family-friendly activities. Attractions include bounce houses, a touch-a-truck experience, and raffles. Kids and adults alike can explore various vehicles up close in the touch-a-truck area.
  • Special Gifts: Alumni and attendees will receive a commemorative gift to mark the 50th anniversary, while supplies last.
  • Ice Cream Treats: Cool off with 50-cent ice cream scoops from Whit’s Frozen Custard, adding a sweet touch to the celebration.

Jonathan Davis, Superintendent of Pickaway-Ross CTC, expressed enthusiasm about the event. “This milestone is a testament to our commitment to quality education that serves both our students and the local workforce. We invite the entire community to join us in celebrating this significant achievement and to experience firsthand the positive impact of career-technical education in our region.”

Over the past 50 years, Pickaway-Ross CTC has adapted to the evolving needs of the workforce, continuously updating its programs and facilities to offer relevant and cutting-edge education. The center provides a wide range of programs in fields such as health sciences, construction, manufacturing, and information technology.
