PIKE – Today (January 27, 2020) Board of Commissioners became a 2a sanctuary county.
What is a 2A sanctuary county? It is a County that has adopted laws or resolutions to prohibit or impede the enforcement of certain gun control measures such as universal gun background checks, high capacity magazine bans, assault weapon bans, red flag laws, etc.
Federal laws supersede resolutions or local laws, so most 2a resolutions are mostly put in place to show the views of the county or states within. This can be powerful to show law writers and people in elected positions what the view of the people exactly is.
The resolution from pike county reads as followed.
