ZANESVILLE, Ohio — December 16, 2024 – Plaskolite, LLC, in partnership with JobsOhio, Ohio Southeast Economic Development (OhioSE), the Ohio Department of Development, and the Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority, has announced a significant $11.9 million investment in its Zanesville facility. This expansion will add 38 new jobs and boost the company’s manufacturing capabilities in the region.
The initiative is supported by a tax credit from the Ohio Department of Development and represents a major commitment from Plaskolite, a global leader in engineered thermoplastics manufacturing.
A Strong Vote of Confidence in Ohio

Plaskolite produces a variety of thermoplastic materials, including acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC, HDPE, ABS, and PETG sheets, which are used across industries such as automotive, signage, glass replacement, and skylights. With its global headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, Plaskolite employs over 2,000 workers across 18 locations worldwide.
Michael Gilbert, President and CEO of Plaskolite, called this expansion an important milestone:

The company’s new investment will result in an 85% increase in product output at the Zanesville location.
Addressing Transportation Needs
To support the increased production and transportation of raw materials, the Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority is working on expanding its rail transfer station.
Matt Abbott, Executive Director of the Port Authority, highlighted the significance of this expansion for the local community:

Workforce Development and Job Training
JobsOhio plans to assist Plaskolite’s workforce development through its Talent Acquisition Services Program. This includes strategies for talent recruitment, employee training, and candidate sourcing. Additionally, the Muskingum County Ohio Means Jobs Incumbent Worker Training program will ensure employees are equipped to operate new equipment and technologies as the expansion progresses.
