Local students named to Kent State dean’s list
Four local students recently were named to the fall 2015 dean’s list at Kent State University. Undergraduate students who obtained a 3.4 grade point average or higher while maintaining 12 or more credit hours during the fall qualified to receive this honor.
The local students are Cassaundra Jackson of Ashville; Kyle Wells of Commercial Point; Donavan Capehart of Orient; and Merinda Blanton of South Bloomfield.
Four local students earn dean’s list honors at Miami University
Four Pickaway County students recently were named to the dean’s list at Miami University for the first semester 2015-16. Students who achieve a 3.5 or better grade point average qualify for the dean’s list.
The local students are Sydnee Roese of Ashville and Alan Kocher, Morgan Pheneger and Aspen Dowden of Circleville.
Richards named to Miami University president’s list
Julie Richards of Circleville recently was named to the president’s list for the first semester 2015-16 at Miami University. Students who achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average for the first semester were recognized on the list for academic excellence.
Richards is earning a bachelor of science degree majoring in nutrition, kinesiology and Miami University.
Lear named to LMU dean’s list
Jessica Lear of Circleville recently was named to the dean’s list at Lincoln Memorial University for the fall semester of 2015. To be placed on the dean’s list, students must be a full-time undergraduate and carry a 3.5 grade point average for the semester.
Two named to Ashland University dean’s list
Two local students recently were named to the Ashland University dean’s list for the fall 2015 semester. To be eligible for the honor, students must be enrolled full-time and achieve at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
Megan Zealer of Circleville is majoring in nursing. She is the daughter of Kit and Tracy Zealer.
Kaylin Henry of Circleville is majoring in commercial art. She is the daughter of Donnie Henry and Angela Dailey.
Arnold named to Kent State president’s list
Makayla Arnold, a sophomore entrepreneurship major, was named to the fall 2015 president’s list at Kent State University. She is among 953 undergraduate students to have earned and received academic recognition on the fall president’s list.
To qualify for the honor, undergraduate students must obtain a 4.0 gpa while maintaining 15 or more credit hours in a semester or session.
High school students named to OCU’s Trailblazer Academy dean’s list
Four local high school students recently were named to the Trailblazer Academy dean’s list at Ohio Christian University. These students are taking dual credit courses for the fall 2015 semester.
To be eligible for the dean’s list, a student must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.5 or better and be enrolled in at least 12 semester hours.
Local students honored are Coralie Christopher of Circleville; Maria Shappert of Commercial Point; Shane Edmonds of Orient; and Gabrielle Yates of Orient.
Three named to Capital University president’s list
Three local students recently were named to the president’s list at Capital University for the fall 2015 semester. To be named to the president’s list, which honors the highest level of academic distinction, students must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.85.
Local students are Kayla Fowler of Ashville; Katharine Gerchy of Ashville; and Amanda O’Brien of Orient.

The following local traditional program students recently were named to the dean’s list at Ohio Christian University for the fall 2015 semester. To be named to the list, students must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.5 or better and be enrolled in at least 12 semester hours.

Six named to Capital University provost’s list
Six local students recently were named to the provost’s list for the fall 2015 semester at Capital University. In order to be named to the list, full-time, degree-seeking students must have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.70.
Students honored are Rachel Beatty of Orient; Tatiana Boldrin of Ashville; Johnathon Finney of Commercial Point; Codie Manson of Circleville; Shelby Seimer of Circleville; and Drew Shull of Circleville.
