Karen Sue (Vincent) Sever, 71, of Galloway, died at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus where she had been a patient the past week.
Karen was born Aug. 18, 1944, in Columbus, to L. Earl and Mary Lou Palmer Vincent.
She was a 1962 graduate of New Holland High School and lived most of her life in Columbus. Before her retirement, she had been an accounting manager for Cummins Diesel in Columbus. Karen was an active volunteer with the Darbydale P.T.A.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Vincent A. Sever in 1979; and a daughter, Jan E. Sever in 1984.
Karen is survived by her husband, Richard Allen Sever, whom she married July 22, 1967; a son, Jeffrey S. Sever of Washington Court House; a granddaughter, McKenna Sever, and daughter-in-law, Tina Kirk, both of Grove City; and special family friend, Nancy Speakman of New Holland.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland with the Rev. Clarence Hurst officiating. Cremation will follow the service, and burial of the cremains will be at a later date in the New Holland Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in New Holland.
