Mary Lou (Stevison) Maxson, 79, of South Bloomfield, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016.
She was born on Aug. 16, 1936, in Ross County, the daughter of the late William Louis and Anna Mary (Sherer) Stevison.
She attended Clarksburg School until her senior year and then married Donald R. Maxson. She finished her senior year at Saltcreek High School.
Following graduation, she and her husband established a grain and livestock farming business. During her lifetime, she was elected clerk of trustees for Saltcreek Township, worked as an accountant and her passion was preparing income taxes.
Mrs. Maxson was preceded in death by daughter, Kevelyn Maxson-Mancini; and granddaughter, Kayla Maxson-Lemmon.
She is survived by her ex-husband, Donald of Circleville; two daughters, Melanie (David) Schleich of Williamsport and Anjanette (Chad) Spangler of Ashville; three sons, Donald Maxson Jr., Ronald (Kathy) Maxson of Circleville and Lonnie (Diane) Maxson of Grove City; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren plus another one due in August. Other survivors include two brothers, William J. (Irene) Stevison of Hamilton and James I. (Shirley) Stevison of Galloway; and Judith Ann (Steve) Gary, who was like a little sister to her.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday Feb. 3, 2016, at Browns Chapel Church with Dr. Doyne Wiggins officiating. Burial will be in Browns Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.
