George W. Likens Sr., 87, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, Feb., 4, 2016, in Beckley, West Virginia.
He was born Jan. 7, 1929, in Huntington, West Virginia, and was the son of the late John and Pauline Likens.
He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army and a member of the International Local 1275.
He is survived by two sons, Guy (Penny) Likens of Lancaster and Karl (Twila) Likens of Laurelville; three daughters, Della (Charles) Campbell and Pauline (Mike) Pinkstock, both of Lancaster, and Doris (Randy) Hartshorn of Somerset; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Polly of Danese, West Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Likens; son, George W. Likens Jr.; and a daughter, Mary Chaffin.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda. A graveside service will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
