Norma Jean Mace, age 89, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, in Safety Harbor, Florida.

Norma is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Sherrill of Dalton, Georgia, Lin Mace Christie of Fairfield, Connecticut, Sally Mace Donohoe of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Barbara Mace McLaughlin of Maplewood, New Jersey. She also leaves six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Harold Mace, and her daughter, Nancy Donnelly, preceded her.

Born on August 16, 1926, in Columbus, Norma was the daughter of Homer Gray and Bessie Edgington Gray.

The family moved to Chillicothe, where she lived until her marriage to Harold Levi Mace on Sept. 2, 1951. The couple then moved to their farm in Williamsport.

Norma was a wonderful mother and wife, always busy with family and friends. She was an active woman who was deeply involved for a majority of her life in the Wiilliamsport United Methodist Church, Sorosis and the Child Study League, as well as “clowning” with her group of friends as they entertained at community facilities. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving, caring and giving person.

A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2016, at the Wellman Funeral Home, 1455 N. Court St., Circleville. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the funeral home with a burial service to follow at Brown’s Chapel in Clarksburg. The family would like to welcome all friends and family to attend and celebrate Norma’s life.
