JACKSON TOWNSHIP – A barn near Williamsport was a total loss Tuesday afternoon after a fire ravaged the structure about 2 p.m.

No one was injured in the blaze, which remains under investigation.

Angela Knue said she had just finished mowing the lawn at 6661 St. Rt. 56 West about an hour earlier and left on some errands when she received a call from her mother telling her the barn was fully engulfed in flames.

Knue said she had no idea what would have sparked the blaze, and there was nothing of any real value inside the barn.

Firefighters from Southwest Pickaway Fire District handled the scene with members of the Pickaway Township Fire Department trucking water into the rural area to battle the flames. The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the scene.
