Emogene Welch

Emogene Welch, 70, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016, at Fairfield Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 29, 1945, in Branchland, West Virginia, and was the daughter of Ray Merritt and Maxine Adkins.

She was a retired machine operator from Textile North Carolina and a member of Berean Baptist Church in North Carolina.

Emogene is survived by her sons, Timothy Pritchard of Lancaster, Mark (Lori) Pritchard of Mt. Sterling, Charles (Teresa) Pritchard of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Brian Pritchard of Lancaster; mother, Maxine Adkins of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many cousins and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Merritt; and step-father, Carl Adkins.

Cremation has been handled with care by the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016, at the funeral home.

Emogene was an organ donor and gave the gift of sight by donating her eyes. The family would like contributions to be made to Lifeline of Ohio at www.lifelineofohio.org in memory of Emogene.
