Mary “Kathy” Bennett, 55, of Amanda, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016, at James Cancer Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born in Columbus on March 26, 1961, to James and Patricia (Lewis) Corsi.
Kathy was a 1979 graduate of Westland High School and retired from Nationwide Insurance after 28 years of service. After she retired she assisted her husband Jack in starting Bennett Home Services.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jack E. Bennett; children, Stephanie (Russell) Benjamin, Christopher (Tiffany) Bennett, Sidney (Keegan) Brintlinger and Jennifer (Anthony) Trainer; grandchildren, Keirsten, Makinzie, Caleb, Tori, Alana, AJ, Chloe, Bennett, Brendan and Leo on the way; mother, Patricia Corsi; siblings, Mike (Karen) Corsi, Michele Corsi and Becky Corsi; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Corsi; and father- and mother-in-law, James E. And Joeanne Bennett.
Kathy enjoyed her grandchildren, traveling, spending time with friends and family, getting her nails done, shopping and near the end of her battle she discovered Amazon.com.
The family would like to thank The James for the care and compassion they showed to Kathy, especially the doctors, nurses and the staff on the 14th and 15th floors.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016, at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Bruce Bell officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions directed to the James Cancer Hospital, 460 W. 10th Ave., Columbus, OH 43210 in Kathy’s memory.
