Villem Rahe

Villem Rahe, 90, of Chillicothe, formerly of Circleville, died 6:41 p.m. Monday, July 11, 2016, at his home.

He was born Aug. 12, 1925, in Rapina, Estonia, to the late Artur and Leida Pint Rahe.

He married Vally Seifing, who preceded him in death.

On May 24, 2006, he married Brenda Joy Bennick Rahe, who survives.

Also surviving are six children, Helle Brand of Phoenix, Arizona, Arvo (Kim) Rahe of Estero, Florida, Peter Rahe of Caribou, Maine, Kristi (Randall) Walker of Waverly, Kristjan (Diana) Rahe of Denver, North Carolina, and Tiina (Thomas) Ruffing of Norwalk; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; a stillborn son, Mart; two brothers, Ants and Mark Rahe; and a sister, Eva Rahe.

Mr. Rahe was a US Army veteran. He was a ceramic engineer with RCA-Thomson Electronics and Corning Glass Works. He received numerous medals in several events, and he was active in the Senior Olympics. He also was a member of the BPOE 77, Circleville.

Family and friends will gather from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016, at the Haller Funeral Home & Crematory, Chillicothe. Military graveside services, conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
