The Third Thursday Event Series in downtown Circleville continues with “Throwback Thursday” this week on July 21. Everyone is encouraged to have fun and dress up in their favorite “retro” attire, and prizes will be awarded to those chosen to be wearing the most original clothing.

Held on the City of Circleville Parking Lot on East Franklin Street, the event hours are 5 to 9 p.m. Discount tickets can be purchased in advance via the Pickaway County Welcome Center website, www.pickaway.com; in person at the Welcome Center, 325 W. Main St.; or by calling 740-474-3636 during business hours.

Admission is $5 for adults at the gate and free for anyone aged 17 and under accompanied by a parent or guardian.

In the event of extreme weather, the event will be held on the following night if possible.

Live music will be provided by the popular country band Southern Ground, as well as the Pickaway Classic Rock Revue. At 5:30 p.m., the talented students from the Charmion Performing Arts Center will put on a special dance show.

Throwback Thursday features the area’s finest restaurants selling a wide variety of food, as well as soft drinks and water sold by the Circleville Band Boosters. The South Bloomfield United Methodist Church will return with their delicious ice cream, and the Budweiser Beer wagon will be on hand with a selection of cold brews. The Third Thursday Marketplace vendors will be featuring unique items for sale from their businesses.

The Southern Ground Band plays high energy contemporary country music with rock and roll roots, and features Circleville native John Mills (lead guitar, vocals), Bobby Withers (rhythm guitar, vocals), Corey Catlett (bass), and Mark Fox (drums).

The Pickaway Classic Rock Revue includes Jeff Stonerock (guitar, vocals), Mike Mills (guitar, vocals), Wes Hart (drums), Luther Center (vocals), and John Simison (keyboards). They have played in some of the most popular area bands over the years, including Majic Souls, Gold Rush, The Stoneys, Sweet Sixteen, Silver Spur, and the House Band.

The Third Thursday Event Series is presented by Coughlin Automotive of Circleville, and a complete list of business sponsors will be displayed at the event. A select number of sponsors and organizations will also have informational displays set up.
