Paul Maxwell Reed, 84, of Circleville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2016, at Brown Memorial surrounded by his family.

He was born June 20, 1932, in South Charleston, Ohio, the son of Donnie and Blanche (LeMaster) Reed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annabelle “Ann” (Swackhammer) Reed; sisters, Donna Swackhammer, Wanda Reed, Brenda and her husband, James Hoover; and brother, Harold Gene Reed.

Paul was a college graduate and retired from Union Tools in Columbus where he had been treasurer of the company.

He was a member of St. John’s Church in Stoutsville and loved to read his Bible. He was a kind, loving and caring person who always thought of others first.

Paul was an Amateur Radio Operator (Ham Radio). He was a member of K of P Lodge and Phylos Lodge #64.

He is survived by his step-son, Daniel (Lisa) White of Lancaster; grandchildren, Amie (Lonnie) Coakley, Nicholas (Amanda Penhorwood) White, Samuel “Mack” (Sydney Auckerman) White and Rebecca White; great-grandchildren, Kody, Alexanderia and Austin Coakley and Dustin and Jeremiah Penhorwood; special friend and caregiver, Tracy (Pat) Stewart and her sons, Jevan, Ryan and Cayden; special nephew, Jeff Swackhammer; and several other dearly loved nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, 2016, at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Ted Davis officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
