Hazel L. Chaney Richter, 93, of Chillicothe, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 10:19 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, at the Vineyards at Concord Nursing Home, Frankfort.
She was born Aug. 19, 1923. in Ross County, the daughter of Martin and Nellie (Coonrod) Schumacher.
On Dec. 27, 1941, she married Thomas J. Chaney, who preceded her in death on April 25, 1971. On Feb. 24, 1973, Hazel was married to Donald E. Richter, who preceded her in death Nov. 20, 2008.
Surviving are daughters, Amy (Larry) Gartner and Carol (Ed) Whitley, both of Chillicothe; a son, David (Gina) Chaney of Georgia; and daughter, Jeanie (Charles) Roach of Florida; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister, June (Dallas) Aldendefer of Ashville; and special friends in Christ, Bob and Mary Richards of Chillicothe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven sisters; and two brothers.
Hazel was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend.
Viewing hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, at the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe. Funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday at Ware Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Cottrill officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery.
