John D. Prince

John David Prince, 75, of Circleville, passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, at Berger Hospital.

He was born Oct. 28, 1940, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, the son of Albert and Velma (Wren) Prince.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years, Geraldine “Gerry” (Dailing) Prince; sister, Margie and her husband, Jim Barton; and brother, Gene Prince.

John was a veteran of the US Army serving in Korea from 1959 to 1962.

He was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he had been a past president of the church council and chairman of the property committee and belonged to the Men’s Bible Study Group which met on Fridays.

John was a former plant manager for Purina Mills and was an international consultant for feed production.

He was a member and past president of Noon Rotary and served on the Civil Service Board of Pickaway County.

John enjoyed golfing, traveling and fishing.

His greatest joy came from being with his family who mourn his passing: daughters, Dava (Richard) Miller of Plain City and Leslie (James) Prince Rudolph of Boulder, Colorado; grandsons, Colin and Jacob Miller and Max Rudolph; brother-in-law, Kenneth (Florence) Dailing; his nieces and nephews who knew him as “Uncle Dave”; and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Circleville, with The Rev. Dr. Gerhard Kraus officiating. Burial of the urn will take place at a later date in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 151 E. Main St., Circleville.
