Bobby R. Crabtree

Bobby Ray Crabtree, age 79, of Ashville, passed away at Berger Hospital on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017.

He was born on Feb. 11, 1937, to the late Ray and Lydia (Frazier) Crabtree in Louisa, Kentucky.

Bobby served in the US Army from 1956-1959.

He had retired as an electrician out of the IBEW Local 683, working in residential construction most of his career.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Phoebe DeBoard and Bernice Newberry; brother, Harold; and an infant brother.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 57 years of marriage, Juanita D. (Spurlock); daughters, Rhonda (Rick) Pennington and Teresa (Tim) Nungester, all of Ashville; grandchildren, Travis (Angie) Pennington of Ashville, Michele (Josh) Dorsey of Powell, Drew (Angel) Crabtree and Carmon Nungester, both of Ashville; two step-grandchildren, T.J. Nungester of Circleville and Tasha Nungester of Idaho; great-grandchildren, Preston, Grace, Emma, Reid and Branson; step-great-grandchildren, Noah, Kimberly, Kaylee and Tony; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville. Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017, at the funeral home with Rev. Ron Goodling officiating. Interment will follow in Harrison Twp. Cemetery, South Bloomfield, with AMVETS Post 2256 providing graveside military honors.
