Larry Leroy Shaw, 82, of Laurelville, passed away on Feb. 21, 2017.
He was born on Oct. 23, 1934, in Hocking County, to Raymond and Jeneve (Taylor) Shaw.
He was a member of Laurel Hills UMC, worked at DuPont for 31 years, was a team penning judge, built miles of fence and laid block on the side, and he was known by many as the “Candy Man.”
On Sept. 25, 2001, he received a heart transplant.
He was preceded by his parents.
Larry is survived by his wife, Billie (Frazier) Shaw; sons Rodney (Renee) and Steven (Carol) Shaw; step-daughter, Melody (John) Ross; grandchildren, Zachary (Jordan), Raymond, Rachel and Taylor (Gage); several step-grandchildren; great-grandchild, Rylee Shae; and by brother, Damon Shaw.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville, with Rev. Leland Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Green Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at the funeral home in Laurelville.
