Rev. Harold E. Wright, 86, of Waverly, died 2 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, in Westmoreland Place, following an extended illness.
He was born June 22, 1930, in Columbus, to the late Leroy E and Ruth LeOpal Brown Wright.
On June 26, 1948, he married the former Carrie E. Hagen, who died March 18, 2012.
Surviving are children, Vicki Thivener of Altoona, Pennsylvania, Harold K. (Irene) Wright of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Patricia E. Wright of Laurelville, Howard E. (Terry) Wright, Carrie E. (Glen) Wright-Barnhart and Clara Jean (John) Lutgen, all of Chillicothe; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ethel Stuller of Pataskala; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Ruth Ann Ryan; and brothers, Leroy Jr., Howard E. and Dennis E. Wright.
Harold was a retired pastor for the Church of Christ in Christian Union, was a member of the Salvation Army and also attended Mt. Tabor Community Church.
He also retired from Gahanna School System, where he had worked as a custodian.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, in the Salvation Army, Chillicothe, with Pastor Krystal Boring officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe.
