Carl E. Furness, 70, of Amanda, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home on Friday, April 28, 2017.
He was born Feb. 7, 1947, in Lancaster, and was the son of the late Vernon and Alice (Hunter) Furness.
Carl was a U.S. veteran serving in the Air Force during Vietnam.
He was a 1966 graduate of Amanda Clearcreek High School and a retired machinist from Thompson Consumer Electronics.
Carl is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Smith) Furness; daughter, Marlo (Ronnie) Riffle of Amanda; two grandsons, Dustin and Will Riffle; brother, Harold Furness of Circleville; and was a friend of many.
A funeral service was held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Phillip DeMint officiating. Burial followed in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. Friends called from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 1, 2017, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
