John Emerson Zeimer, age 78, passed away peacefully with his wife at his side on May 6, 2017, at the Bay County Covenant Care Hospice Center after a four-year stroke battle.
He was born July 22, 1938, to the late Carl and Thelma (Peters) Zeimer in Wayne Township, Pickaway County.
He was a retiree of Anheuser Busch, where he worked as an electrician.
John was a 1956 graduate of Scioto Township High School and a six-year United States Marine Corps veteran.
He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, boating, winters in Florida and his gun collection.
He was a lifetime member of the VFW, International Moose, and a member of the South Bloomfield United Methodist Church.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 43 years, Marilyn (Beatty) Zeimer; brother, Paul Michael; and grandson, Jason.
He is survived by his wife and partner of 13 years, Janice Pettibone Zeimer; son, William Craig; granddaughters, Amanda and Ashley; brother, David (Beverly) Zeimer; sister-in-law, Joanna; as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by a host of special friends, including the Duffy Family of Warner Robins, Georgia, the Pettibone Family of Florida and Ohio, Allene Hagen, Kay Toole, and a special daughter through marriage, Heather Allene, and her family, Preet and Olivia Nagvanshi, who were so generous and loving to him.
Cremation has already taken place, and a private family service will be held on a later date.
