CIRCLEVILLE – A drug suspect was tasered by city police Thursday evening at Rural King after he reportedly attempted to flee from officers during his arrest.
Paul E. Dillinger, 29, of Marion, was transported to the Pickaway County Jail and charged with trafficking in heroin, possession of heroin, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and resisting arrest, along with multiple charges from outstanding warrants, according to the Circleville Police Department.
Officers were originally dispatched to Rural King, 23625 U.S. Route 23, on a report of several males causing a disturbance. Upon their arrival, reports indicate officers discovered Dillinger had multiple warrants for his arrest.
While taking him into custody, Dillinger pulled away and began to run, and he was apprehended by use of a Taser.
During a subsequent search, Dillinger was found in possession of a large quantity of suspected heroin and methamphetamine, along with more than $1,100 in cash.
The current drug charges are all second- and third-degree felonies, according to court documents. The charge of resisting arrest is a second-degree misdemeanor.
