Virginia Rose Reay, age 87, passed on June 28, 2017, at Meadow Grove in Grove City.
She was born in Sugar Grove on Sept. 25, 1929, and she was a graduate of Mt. Sterling High School. She was retired from M/I in 1993.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Engel and Mamie Cupp Dupler; step-father, Carl Lester Dupler; sisters Minnie (Edward) Azbell and Millie (Raymond) Triplett; daughter-in-law, Linda Taylor Reay. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lewis Reay, in 2014, after 65 years of marriage.
They were the parents of Ginger Reay Griffith, Harold “Butch” (Linda) Reay, Chris Reay and Timothy (Pamela) Reay. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Zackary (Brigitte) Griffith, Wesley (Amy) Griffith, Gretchen Griffith, Jason (Tiffany) Reay, Seth (Lisa) Reay and Jessica Reay (Andrews) Reynolds; 11 great-grandchildren; special nieces, Jeannie Azbell and Dwana Goodan; sister-in-law, Betty Cocklin; many nieces and nephews; and extended family at Meadow Grove Transitional Care.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at the Porter-Tidd Funeral Home, Mt. Sterling, Rev. Dortha Ross officiating, with the interment following in Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Sterling. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday.
