Elvin Orville Bethel, 85, of Kingston, passed from this life into the arms of his Heavenly Father on July 1, 2017, at 9:51 a.m., after battling Alzheimer’s Disease for many years, with family and friends surrounding him.
He was born in Frankfort on Feb. 17, 1932, the son of the late Melvin and Mary Alice (Kerr) Bethel.
On March 17, 1956, he united in marriage with his loving wife, Stella F. (Hutchinson) Bethel, who survives.
Elvin is also survived by his children, David E. Bethel and his fiancé, Julie Harney, of Kingston, and Steven R. Bethel of Chillicothe; granddaughters, Emme Bethel of Chillicothe and Maria Bethel of Clearwater, Florida; great-grandsons, Braeden and Brody Vincent; brother, Edgar (Linda) Bethel of Punta Gorda, Florida; sister, June (Larry) Montgomery of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Elvin A. “Alan” Bethel; sisters, Esta Angus, Edith Spires and Edna Mae Newsome; and brothers, Earl, Elmer and Sam Bethel.
Elvin retired from Burgess and Niple and enjoyed farming for many years.
A special thanks to Circleville Heartland Hospice, Lorrie Bach, and all of those who helped take care of Elvin in his final months. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017, at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston, with Rev. Dean Queen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hill’s.
