William A. “Bill” Raymond, 84, of Circleville, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on July 4, 2017.
Bill was born on Nov. 16, 1932, to the late William E. and Roberta (Allen) Raymond in Circleville.
On May 19, 1956, he married Sally A Curry in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Raymond-St. Cin; grandmother, Josie Moore; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Sarah Curry; nephews, Jack Leasure and Marshal Curry; and brothers-in-law, Charles Leasure, Jay Curry, William Curry, Ray Curry and Teddy Curry.
Left to mourn his passing are his devoted and loving wife of 61 years, Sally; son, William (Lorerie) Raymond; daughters, Billie (Jeff Rush) Raymond, Lisa (John) Langley, Jill (Scott) Giroux and Tonya (Steve) Clay; nine grandchildren, Jerry, Liza, Jacquie, Billy, Derek, Heath, Austin, Scotty and Glenn; eight great-grandchildren, Sarah, Brayden, Landon, Xavier, Braxton, Ami, Paislee and Nash; sister, Wanda Leasure; brother, Ted (Shirley) Raymond; special cousin, Albert (Zaney) Weaver; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Rainy.
Bill served as a medic in the Korean War and completed his service as a Sergeant. He came home and worked as a truck driver for over 20 years before he retired.
He was a devoted family man. He enjoyed coaching his daughters’ softball teams, taking his grandchildren bowling and teaching them how to fish. He was always full of laughter and trying to put a smile on your face. His kind heart and positive influence will live on forever.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017, at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017, at the funeral home with Bill Mobley officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Cemetery in Circleville.
