Carl R. Baker, 86, of Circleville, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Logan Elm Health Care.
He was born May 13, 1931, in Ross County, to parents Clarence and Ilo Jean (Skinner) Baker.
Carl was a U.S. army veteran of the Korean War and retired from U.S. Steel in Circleville.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jack Bryant; sister, Ima Jean Baker; sister and brother-in-law, Maxine Sykes and Jim Sykes; brother-in-law, Donald Streitenberger; brother-in-law, Charles Haynes; sister-in-law, Janie Hedges; and nephew, Jack Easter.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise (Haynes) Baker; son, Douglas of Fairborn; grandson, Chad Ockerman of Carlisle, Kentucky; sister, Shirley Streitenberger; brother, David (Judy) Baker; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and Bill Easter; and brother-in-law, Carl Hedges. He is also survived by neices and nephews, Vicki Pack, Bruce Sykes, Beverly Teets, Brenda Cassidy, Karen Clifton, Tami Smith, Twana Ruth, Artie Easter, Kathi Imler, John Easter, Carla Brill, Sharon Chase and Susan Jordan; and his dog, Jacob.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville. A graveside funeral will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Reber Hill Cemetery, Ashville, with Pastor Todd Hautala officiating and military honors by AMVETS Post 2256.
