Edwin Norman Hart, 76, passed away May 28, 2015, at Mount Carmel West Hospital.
He was born Sept. 7, 1938, in Circleville. He was the son of Otis and Beatrice McCreary Hart.
Eddie was a 1956 graduate of Circleville High School and attended Ohio University. He was a member of the National Guard and a United States Marine Corps veteran, serving from 1958-1961.
He retired from Jack Maxton Chevrolet and worked for many years at Jim’s Pay & Save and World Book Encyclopedia. He was a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League and was past president of the Pickaway Farmers and Sportsmen Club.
He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Charles (Charlotte) Hart and Leonard Hart; sister, Violet Margaret; and niece, Roberta Wilkinson.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Cummins Hart; son, Eric, his wife, Shari, and their daughter, Sophia; son, Wesley, his wife, Tracy, and children Josh, Nate and Nikki; sister, Eleanor Robinson; sister-in-law, Teresa Wardell; and brother-in-law, Thomas Wardell.
Eddie leaves behind his Marine Corps buddies Dave Garrett and family, Jim Wolford and family, and friends Gary Hinton, Bob Shirey and many others. He loved dogs and cats and rescued many of them. He made knives for many friends and family members.
His favorite hobbies were fishing in Canada and mushroom hunting. He was an all-around handyman who could fix just about anything. He was a true friend, proud grandfather, good dad, loyal husband and all-around nice guy.
Funeral services will be at noon on Monday, June 1, 2015, at the Hill Funeral Home in Kingston. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Kingston.
