Lawrence V. “Gabby” Gloyd Sr., age 81, passed away at home June 17, 2015, with family at his side.
He served in the U.S. Army for two years at Fort Knox, Kentucky, in the Tankard Division.
He worked at Owens-Illinois (Kimbles) for 24 years and then went to General Motors, where he retired in 1995. He also was a member of Reese CCCU Church.
He is survived by wife, Lenora Gloyd; son, Lawrence “Larry” Vernon (Marie) Gloyd Jr.; daughter, Charolette “Shark” (James) Kessler; grandkids, Amy (Will) Hannan and Jeremy Gloyd; great-grandsons, little Jeremy, Brandon and Michael; sisters, Barbara (Art) Conley and Patty (Mel) Bowen; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2015, at O.R. Woodyard Chapel, 1346 S. High St., where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Tim Huffman officiating. Interment will follow in Harrison Township Cemetery.
