Dias named to Harding University dean’s list
Shelby Dias of Ashville, a senior public relations major at Harding University, is one of more than 1,200 students included on the spring 2015 semester dean’s list.
The dean’s list is published each semester by Dr. Larry Long, provost, honoring those who have achieved high scholarship. To be eligible, a student must be carrying 12 or more hours with a 3.65 or higher grade-point average and no incompletes.
O’Day named to earns dean’s list honors, degree from Ohio Wesleyan
Jacob O’Day of Orient recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University at the commencement ceremony held May 10.
O’Day also has been named to the 2015 spring semester dean’s list at Ohio Wesleyan University. To qualify for Dean’s List recognition, Ohio Wesleyan students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale in all applicable classes.
Marcum named to Miami University president’s list
Emily Marcum of Circleville recently was named to the Miami University spring 2015 president’s list.
Miami University students who are ranked in the top three percent of undergraduate students within each division for second semester 2014-15 have been named to the president’s list recognizing academic excellence.
Marcum is majoring in Integrated English Language Arts Education.
Local students graduate from Miami University
Charles Maguire of Ashville, Betsey Brown of Circleville, Jessica Colburn of Circleville and Emily Justice of Circleville were among 4,101 students from Miami University who received degrees during spring commencement exercises May 16 in Yager Stadium.
Local students named to Miami University dean’s list
Julie Richards, Alan Kocher, Morgan Pheneger, Mackenzie Pheneger and Aspen Dowden, all of Circleville, recently were named to the dean’s list at Miami University.

Marshall named to Morehead dean’s list
Rose Averett Marshall of Circleville has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2015 semester.
To be eligible for dean’s list, a student must carry a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 letter-graded hours (four courses).
Students named to University of Findlay dean’s list
Hannah Chipps and Julia Thompson of Orient recently were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2015 semester at The University of Findlay.
To earn this achievement, a student must attain a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Local students graduate from Kent State
Two local students recently graduated from Kent State University at its spring 2015 commencement.
James Akison of Williamsport graduated with a Bachelor of Integrative Studies from the College of Arts and Sciences.
Angela Williams of Circleville graduated with a Master of Education from the College of Education, Health and Human Services.
