Joyce Marie Porter, 79, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Friday, Aug. 7, 2015, in Circleville.
She was born June 5, 1936, in Powell, to the late Howard and Hazel Solt.
She graduated from Canal Winchester High School in 1954.
She married her life-long love, Dean Porter, in 1957 and took up residence in the Mt. Sterling area as a homemaker. Joyce was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Sedalia.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband in January 2015; her son, Fred; and her sisters, Beverly Richardson and Geri Baughman of Carroll.
She is survived by two daughters and a son, Tammy (Rick) Williams of Circleville, Teri (Jeff) Griffith of Mineral, Virginia, and Tim (Lisa) Porter of Chillicothe. She has 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Howard (Beverly) Solt; cousins, nephews and nieces.
Visitation with the family will start at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at Porter-Tidd Funeral Home, 331 W. Main St., Mt. Sterling, and the service will begin at 2 p.m. Reverend Gordon Ell will be officiating.
