February 24
– A deputy was advised that a known suspect had turned on electric service to a residence in the 14000 block of state Route 104 that had been turned off. A report was taken on theft.
– A resident in the 2000 block of state Route 56 West reported an unknown subject stole a chain saw out of his garage. A report was taken on theft.
– A resident in the 200 block of South Main Street, New Holland, reported an unknown subject had stolen medication from her residence. A report was taken on theft.
– A deputy and the canine unit Turpin assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol on a free air narcotic search during a traffic stop on state Route 104 west of state Route 56 West. The trooper located a large amount of heroin in a purse, along with other narcotics, drug abuse instruments, drug paraphernalia and a large sum of cash.
– Roy Smythe, 67, of Amanda, advised he lost control of his vehicle on a patch of snow and ran off the road, striking a tree on Ringgold Fairfield Road. No injuries were reported.
– Maurice L. Whyte II, 21, of Columbus, was arrested on a warrant from Circleville Municipal Court for the original charge of theft.
February 25
– A resident in the 7000 block of U.S. Route 22 East reported her identity was used to open an account. A report was taken on theft.
– A resident in the 8000 block of First Street, Darbyville, reported an unknown subject took her Social Security card from her purse. A report was taken on theft.
– A deputy responded to an activated alarm in the 700 block of Dunkle Road, Circleville. The residence checked secure.
– A deputy performed a well-being check on Grove Run Road in Commercial Point. The subject checked OK.
– Eric Lee Long, 24, of Chillicothe, was arrested on a warrant from Circleville Municipal Court for a violation of probation on the original charge of theft.
– Antwan Lavelle McCathron, 36, of Middletown, was arrested on a warrant from Pickaway County Common Pleas Court for failure to appear on the original charge of illegal conveyance of weapons or prohibited items onto the grounds of a detention facility or institution.
– Cassie N. Gang, 31, of Logan, was arrested on a warrant from Circleville Municipal Court for failure to appear on the original charge of theft.
