CIRCLEVILLE – A Circleville woman escaped serious injury Wednesday when her vehicle rolled onto its side after a crash near downtown.
Carol Stewart, 71, of Circleville, was transported to Berger Hospital for treatment of minor injuries following the crash that occurred about 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of North Pickaway and Watt streets.
Stewart was traveling northbound on North Pickaway Street in a 2003 Ford Explorer when she failed to stop for a red light, according to Officer Jeberiah Pencil, Circleville Police Department.
Her vehicle was then struck in the intersection by a minivan driven by Scotty Lester of Circleville and flipped onto its side upon impact.
Stewart was cited for failure to comply with a traffic control device.
