Floyd Ward, 92, of Chillicothe, heard God call his name on Sept. 27, 2015. Surrounded by angels, he was escorted to Heaven and met his Savior face to face.
Floyd was born in Chillicothe on Oct. 21, 1922, to the late Thomas and Rhoda Ward.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Marjorie (Dyke) Ward. Besides his wife, Floyd was survived by sons, Gaylon (Alice) Ward and Todd (Linda) Ward; daughter, Bonnie (John) Danicki; step-sons, Thomas (Jai Ann) Dyke and Timothy (Michele) Dyke; as well as brother, Charles Robert Ward. He loved and was loved by 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. He also touched the lives of many nieces and nephews.
Floyd was predeceased by his siblings, Vernon, George, Mabel, Helen, Ruth and his beloved twin, Lloyd, as well as step-daughter, Karen Lindsey.
Floyd was a veteran of WWII. He served in the European Theatre of Operations and was the recipient of EAME Theatre Ribbon with one Bronze Star.
He was a 36-year employee of the Mead Corporation and a 26-year member of Jefferson Avenue CCCU.
Floyd’s family would like to thank each hospice nurse who treated our loved one with kindness and compassion, as well as, a special thanks to his aides, Candace and Susan.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston, with Rev. Mark Clendaniel officiating. Burial will follow at the Dunkard Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hill’s.
