US – President Biden remarked today that he is touting a Federal Gas Holiday to help Americans on gas.
On Monday Biden said while walking along the beach “Yes, I’m considering it,” Biden told reporters after taking a walk along Rehoboth Beach, Deleware. “Yes, I’m considering it,” Biden told reporters, “I hope to have a decision based on the data, I’m looking for by the end of the week.”
Gas prices have gone to historical levels in the past several months with the National average hitting just over 5 dollars a gallon.
The Biden Administration released 1 million oil barrels in April to help ease costs, increased ethanol blending for the summer, and sent letters to oil refiners urging them to increase refining capabilities. Yet these efforts have yet to reduce price pressures meaningfully.
It is unknown at this time how long the possible holiday will last
