Public Comment Period Now Open for S.R. 138 Bridge Replacement Project

CHILLICOTHE, August 14, 2024 — The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 9 is inviting the public to provide feedback on a planned bridge replacement project on State Route 138 (S.R. 138) in Ross County.

The project, identified as ROS-138-17.28 (PID 115773), aims to replace the existing bridge structure on S.R. 138, located between State Route 207 and Stingy Lane in Deerfield Township. This area is primarily residential.

Key details of the project include:

  • No New Right-of-Way Required: The replacement will not necessitate acquiring new land, and no homes or businesses will be displaced.
  • Funding: The project will be funded with 80% Federal and 20% State funds.
  • Roadway Access: S.R. 138 will remain open throughout the construction period.
  • Project Timeline: The environmental commitment date for the project is set for October 1, 2024, with the project expected to be awarded on October 1, 2025.
