Circleville, OH – Ava Justice, a 16-year-old student at Circleville High School, is vying for the title of Miss Pumpkin Show, showcasing her passion for community and tradition. As part of the selection process, she has shared her experiences, aspirations, and memories related to the beloved local event.

Ava is actively involved in various school and community activities, including the Drug Free Club, Key Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She also participates in soccer, basketball, and golf, while volunteering in the preschool room at New Life Church. Her leadership roles include serving on the Leadership Team for soccer and acting as the Financial Director for the Yearbook Committee.

In her spare time, Ava enjoys golfing, swimming, running, playing the piano, attending country concerts, photography, and pickleball.

When reflecting on the Pumpkin Show, Ava says, “I think of the fun parades, trying new foods, and most importantly, creating memories with my friends that last a lifetime.” One of her fondest memories is cheering on her aunt during the Miss Pumpkin Show contest in 2014, which sparked her dream of competing herself.

Ava’s favorite Pumpkin Show treat is a warm pumpkin donut from Lindsey’s Bakery, which she recommends to anyone attending the event. She describes the Pumpkin Show as “a small town tradition that brings people from all over,” emphasizing that it’s free to see the impressive pumpkins, enjoy parades, and explore local arts and crafts.

If given the chance, Ava would extend the Pumpkin Show by adding more days to allow everyone more time to enjoy “the greatest free show on earth.” As queen, she plans to promote the event by highlighting the community spirit and support for local businesses, recalling how her family’s downtown restaurant thrived during the festival.

Ava credits her great-grandmother, Bernie, as the greatest influence in her life. “She made everyone around her feel special and lived life to the fullest without regrets,” Ava shared.

One of her proudest accomplishments is receiving the Debby Jones award, which recognizes not just achievements but also character. “Being recognized for how I treat others and uphold my values is something I won’t forget,” she said.

With her strong ties to the community and heartfelt dedication, Ava Justice is a compelling candidate for Miss Pumpkin Show, embodying the spirit of the cherished local tradition.
