Chillicothe, OH – March 14, 2025 – R L Waller Construction has announced an expansion of its operations in Ross County, a move that will bring four new jobs to the region. The company, based in Chillicothe, Ohio, is teaming up with JobsOhio, Ohio Southeast Economic Development (OhioSE), and the Greater Chillicothe & Ross County Development to bolster its workforce and increase its capacity for historic restoration and custom craftsmanship.

Founded in Chillicothe, R L Waller Construction originally focused on high-end residential construction, additions, and remodeling. Over the years, the company has grown to specialize in historic restoration and provides a wide range of services, including custom trim, stairways, cabinets, decks, and furniture. Additionally, R L Waller has commercial experience in retail, medical facilities, museums, and restaurants, with notable clients such as Dickey’s, Roosters, and several local establishments.

“This expansion marks an exciting new chapter for R L Waller Construction,” said Bob Waller, President of the company. “Our commitment to historic restoration and craftsmanship has always been at the heart of what we do, and this investment will allow us to enhance our capabilities, grow our team, and better serve the region’s preservation needs. We’re proud to continue our work in Chillicothe and contribute to the revitalization of historic properties that define our community’s character.”

To support this growth, R L Waller Construction is investing in its manufacturing shop to expand its capacity for producing historic windows, millwork, and doors. This expansion is driven by the company’s increasing demand for historic restoration, repairs, renovation, and adaptive reuse projects. Additionally, R L Waller is launching a new company, Historical Window Preservation, LLC, which will focus on pre-1940 window restoration and replication.

“Chillicothe is a town rich in architectural history, and many of our buildings have been renovated to historical accuracy by R.L. Waller Construction,” said Tammy Eallonardo, Director of Greater Chillicothe & Ross County Development. “They have a unique ability to recreate architectural detail using modern materials. This expansion will allow R.L. Waller to improve their fabrication shop, build capacity, and create more jobs.”

The company’s expansion is made possible through a $25,000 JobsOhio Small Business Grant, which supports the growth of small businesses in Ohio facing unique challenges. This grant is aimed at businesses located in qualifying areas or owned by minorities, women, veterans, or individuals with disabilities.

“The JobsOhio Small Business Grant has been instrumental in helping small businesses in our region grow and expand their workforce,” said Katy Farber, interim president for OhioSE. “This project is another example of how impactful the program is in driving economic growth in Ohio Southeast.”

The expansion by R L Waller Construction is expected to have a lasting impact on both the company and the community, fostering economic development and preserving the historic charm of Chillicothe and Ross County.
