Circleville, OH — A high-speed attempt to pass another vehicle ended in a fiery crash Monday afternoon when a white Chevrolet Camaro collided head-on with a Dodge Ram 1500 on North Court Street.
The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office reported that the crash occurred around 1:40 p.m. near the Pickaway Craft Mall at 2146 North Court Street. According to deputies, the white Dodge Ram was traveling northbound when the southbound Camaro attempted to pass at high speeds, resulting in a violent head-on collision.
The impact sent the Camaro off the roadway into the grass near the mall, where it caught fire. Pickaway Township Fire Department responded quickly to extinguish the flames. Two occupants of the Camaro sustained injuries, along with two individuals in the Dodge Ram. All four were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Prior to the crash, the Sheriff’s Office had issued a Be on the Lookout (BOLO) alert for a white Camaro reported to be driving recklessly on U.S. 23 near South Bloomfield.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
