Reported Road Rage Incident with Handgun Sparks Concern in Chillicothe

Earlier this week, an incident of road rage escalated to a menacing encounter in Chillicothe, prompting concern among local residents. According to a police report filed on the date in question, officers responded to a call at 28 N Paint St, LEC, following reports of a threatening altercation.

Upon arrival, law enforcement made contact with a driver, who recounted the details of the incident. Allegedly, he had been driving southbound on Bridge St and turned westbound onto Main St when he noticed a black motorcycle tailing closely behind him. As he proceeded towards the intersection of Main and Mulberry, he claimed the motorcycle maneuvered dangerously between lanes, an act commonly referred to as “lane splitting,” and struck the mirror of his vehicle with the driver’s hand.

The situation reportedly escalated when Doles confronted the motorcyclist at the intersection of Main St and Paint St. According to the driver, the motorcyclist brandished a handgun from his waistband and aggressively taunted him. The vicitum stated that he only intended to inquire about the mirror incident and was taken aback by the sudden display of aggression.

Despite the tense exchange, The driver indicated that he did not sustain any damage to his vehicle, but expressed serious concerns about the motorcyclist’s behavior. He admitted being unable to capture the motorcycle’s license plate but provided a description to authorities—a black Harley-style motorcycle with the driver wearing all black attire and a full-face helmet adorned with a neon-colored visor.

Following the altercation, the motorcyclist reportedly departed northbound on Paint St, leaving the driver shaken but unharmed. He emphasized that he did not wish to press charges but sought to document the incident to ensure further incidents involving the same individual could be addressed promptly by local law enforcement.

The Chillicothe Police Department has acknowledged the incident and assured residents that they are actively investigating the matter to prevent any potential future disturbances. Authorities urge anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the motorcyclist involved to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
