Ross County, Ohio – Ross County Planning and Development Director J. Devon Shoemaker announced the launch of the process to develop the county’s first comprehensive plan since 1978. The plan will provide a shared vision and strategic framework for economic growth and development in the region over the next 10 to 20 years. Topics covered will include transportation, housing, tourism, farmland, parks and recreation, and more.
The Ross County Planning Commission, along with the Board of Commissioners, is committed to ensuring the plan reflects the values and priorities of local residents. To gather input from the community, multiple public open house events will be held throughout the county in the coming months.
The first event will be held on Thursday, January 30th, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Christopher Conference Center, located at 20 N. Plaza Blvd in Chillicothe. Residents are invited to attend at any time during those hours.
Additionally, the public is encouraged to share their input through an online survey available at this link. For more information, visit the Ross County Planning and Development website or follow updates on Facebook at Ross County Comprehensive Plan.
This comprehensive plan aims to ensure that Ross County’s future development aligns with the community’s values and aspirations.
