(Ross County, Ohio) — Auditor Jeff Lehner today announced that Ross County’s deadline to purchase 2024 dog licenses without late fees has been extended from January 31 to February 15 pursuant to a resolution passed by the Ross County Commissioners.
“What this means for affected Ross County dog and kennel owners is that they effectively have two more weeks to buy their licenses before state-mandated late fees double their prices,” Lehner said. “If you need a dog license, why not take advantage of the opportunity to pay less?”
Ohio law requires individuals who “own, keep or harbor” a dog aged three months or more to obtain dog licenses annually. Ross County’s $10 per dog license and $50 per kennel license will double to $20 for dogs and $100 for kennels after the new February 15 deadline following today’s Commissioners’ action.
