CHILLICOTHE, OH — The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Chillicothe Post is investigating a fatal one-vehicle crash that occurred on US 35 in Ross County on Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 2:24 p.m., a 2008 Pontiac Solstice, driven by 78-year-old James L. Miller of Frankfort, was traveling westbound on US 35. The vehicle veered off the left side of the roadway, then crossed over and left the right side of the road before striking an embankment. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.
Emergency response teams from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, Ross County Coroner’s Office, Scioto Township Fire and EMS, and Union Township Fire and EMS were on site. The incident led to the closure of one lane of US 35 for approximately three hours.
